# Teams Overview

FanHQ26's **/teams** hub lists all 48 nations qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, organised by group, with per-team programmatic pages covering fixtures, pedigree, group rivals, and a ticket-fair-price guide. The hub is **free** and requires no signup.

## 48 Qualified Teams

The 2026 World Cup is the first **48-team** edition. Confirmed qualifiers include the three host nations (**United States, Mexico, Canada**) plus the 45 teams that came through regional qualifying — among them **Argentina** (defending champions), **Brazil, France, England, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Croatia, Uruguay, Colombia, Morocco, Senegal, Japan, South Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Norway** (first since 1998), **Cape Verde** (debut), **Curaçao** (debut), and 22 more.

## Per-Team Pages

Each nation has a programmatic page at /teams/[slug] (e.g. /teams/argentina, /teams/brazil, /teams/usa, /teams/morocco). Pages render a hero with the team's nation primary colour, an "About" pedigree paragraph, the team's group + group rivals, their three group-stage fixtures with kickoffs and venues, a ticket-fair-price summary across all five seat categories, and a FAQ. JSON-LD emits **SportsTeam schema** for SEO.

## Group Format

The 48 teams are split into **12 groups of four** (A through L). The top two from each group plus the **8 best third-placed teams** advance to the new **Round of 32**. The opening match is Mexico vs South Africa at Estadio Azteca on June 11, 2026; the Final is at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey on July 19, 2026.

## Free Content

The teams hub and all per-team pages are **free** and require no signup. FanHQ26 is **independent fan content** for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and not affiliated with FIFA.
