# VAR — You Make The Call Overview

FanHQ26's **VAR — You Make The Call** (/var-call) is a free 10-incident interactive game where fans take the referee's seat: read a match situation, pick **GOAL / NO GOAL / SEND TO VAR**, and learn the actual ruling with a short rules-of-the-game explainer. The tool covers offside, handball, DOGSO (denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity), back-passes, six-second goalkeeping, and clear-and-obvious VAR triggers.

## Incident Coverage

The ten built-in scenarios include:

- **Offside** with a shoulder level vs. half-a-boot beyond the second-last defender.
- **Handball** with arm tight to the body vs. arm extended away.
- **DOGSO** outside vs. inside the penalty box (post-2016 "double jeopardy" rule explained).
- **Back-pass** from a chest pass vs. deliberate kick.
- **Goalkeeper** holding the ball for 6 vs. 9 seconds.
- **VAR review** of an offside earlier in the attacking phase.
- **Simulation** vs. legitimate contact in the box.

Each incident includes the rule's IFAB wording or a clear "what changed in 2016" note so the explainer doubles as a quick laws-of-the-game tutorial.

## Scoring

Fans get a final-whistle scorecard with grade-tier feedback: **80%+ = Elite Referee 🎖**, **60%+ = Match Official Material**, **40%+ = Assistant Ref Vibes**, below = "Stick to the stands". A per-incident table shows the correct call alongside the player's pick with a one-line rule reason.
