# Watch-Party Finder Overview

FanHQ26's **Watch-Party Finder** (/watch-parties) lists 100+ curated soccer pubs, sports bars, and official FIFA fan zones across every 2026 World Cup host city, plus an on-demand OpenStreetMap Overpass query that surfaces neighbourhood venues by area. The tool is part of the **$29 Tournament Pass**.

## Host City Coverage

The finder covers all **16 host cities** across the three host countries: **United States** (Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York / New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle), **Mexico** (Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey), and **Canada** (Toronto, Vancouver). Each city carries a curated set of vetted soccer pubs known for showing international football.

## Venue Data

Curated venues are stored in `src/lib/venues.ts` with name, address, vibe label (e.g. "soccer pub", "sports bar", "fan zone"), and an optional Google Maps link. Overpass-discovered venues come from a server-cached query against OpenStreetMap (24-hour cache) hitting the `amenity=bar` and `amenity=pub` tags within each city's bounding box, then ranked by relevance.

## Filters

Fans filter by **vibe** (soccer pub / sports bar / fan zone / lounge) and toggle between **curated-only** and **all venues**. Refresh fetches a fresh Overpass query if the cached one is older than 24 hours.
